check box Remove stove oven knobs or purchase safety knobs

check box Do not use tablecloths in the kitchen

check box Store plastic sheeting materials or bags out of reach

check box Cook on rear burners of stove when possible

check box Turn pot and pan handles toward the back of the stove

check box If your garbage contains sharp materials, store in a locked container

check box Store your recycling box out of reach

BATHROOM

check box Lock up all drugs

check box Lock up all cleaning or hygiene products

check box Install slip-resistant adhesives in bathtub

check box Do not use glass containers. Buy bathroom products in plastic containers.

check box Do not use water tank toilet disinfectant

check box Never leave a young child unattended in the bathroom

check box When bathing a young child, check water temperature with your elbow. Water should be lukewarm and room should be warm.

check box Dispose of sharp objects, glass, razor blades, etc. in a locked container

check box Ensure lhat a locked bathroom door can be opened from the outside

check box Turn hot water heater down to 49°- 54° Centigrade

check box Fasten bookshelves or tall furniture to the wall with brackets

check box Install locking devices or plastic covers over electrical outlets

check box Remove heavy or breakable objects from tables

check box Restrict access to areas behind electrical units (stereo, TV, etc.)

check box Ensure that plants are non-toxic

check box Keep fireplace hearth guards in place

BEDROOMS

check box Ensure nursery furniture is solidly constructed and has round edges

check box Ensure that crib meets manufacturing standards (No more than 2 3/8" space between rungs and mattress support must be firmly secured.)

check box Place diaper pail and changing supplies out of reach

check box Buy only non-flammable sleepwear

STAIRS

check box Remove all items at rhe bottom and on the stairs (shoes, toys, books, etc.).

check box Install thick rug at the bottom of stairs with thick underpad

check box Install gates at both bottom and top of stairs

check box Lock up all toxic chemicals

check box Lock up gardening tools and supplies

check box Store power tools with blades and bits removed

check box Lock firearms and ammunition in a secured cabinet

YARD
